My Story
A Musical Beginning
I was born and raised in Astoria, Queens New York. We had a very musically inclined neighborhood. My music career started at the age of fourteen, when I started singing in school and with other guys on the streets of Queens.
At the age of eighteen I was trying to sing in night clubs and any other music clubs that had entertainment. After a few years of just playing small clubs and local venues in New York, I moved to Southwest Florida with my parents.
I started to sing in small bands and worked between Naples and Fort Myers in clubs. I even started my own band titled “Dante & Company.”, and after a year relocated to Miami to play in top forty bands there. I joined up with a band called “The Bow Keys, ” and after a year of working with them, signed up with an agency out of Miami. We toured the east coast to the west coast of the United States, becoming better known and collecting many "road stories" along the way. After two years on the road, we recorded eight demos in Atlanta Georgia, on Decca Records.
After touring on the road for several years, I eventually returned to my ol' stompin' grounds of Fort Myers and Naples and was asked to sing with a newly formed big band called “Stan Spiro and The Townsmen Orchestra”. I spent the next fifteen years as their only lead singer singing with Stan and the Orchestra, working mostly in luxury hotels and cruise ships.
Today I still sing swing, with the Southwest Florida Big Band performing throughout the Naples and Fort Myers area.
